The Preschool Room is in a shared area with the Pre-Kindergarten, which is separated by partition walls. This allows for friends to visit or be helpers on special days, which increases the ease of transitions later on. The preschool is next to our Muscle Room, which allows the preschool to have plenty of active play.
In preschool, we always have two lead teachers. When enrollment is over fifteen students, we have an assistant or aide in the classroom to ensure the younger children are being taught important self-help skills. Our preschool class is very hands-on; the children learn by doing, be it a science project, sorting activity, or writing practice. A
Children do not need to be potty trained to enter the preschool room. However, we do ask that you bring pull-ups instead of diapers to help with the potty training transition when it happens.
Preschoolers normally have a very short transition time. As they see the Pre-K frequently, it is usually a very simple, quick transition. If this is not the case, the student will gradually increase their time in the Pre-K until they are comfortable in their new classroom.
